Cross River, Nigeria
Cross River State, in south-eastern Nigeria, is known for its lush rainforests and rural communities, some of which have limited infrastructure. The Lani Foundation has been active in several Cross River communities, working to improve healthcare and education in hard-to-reach areas. We have collaborated with village leaders and state health officials to run mobile clinics that bring vaccinations and prenatal care to remote villages. In addition, our education support in Cross River includes renovating a number of primary schools and training teachers in modern, student-centred techniques. Through these efforts, children in Cross River have improved school attendance and families enjoy better healthcare right at their doorstep. Partnerships with local NGOs and community volunteers have been key to our impact in this region, ensuring projects are culturally sensitive and sustainable.
(Beyond these locations, the Foundation continually explores new regions where our expertise can support local initiatives. Every place we work, we do so with respect for local knowledge and a commitment to long term partnership.)
